Homemade Eggnog

Delicious Eggnog; easy to make yourself.

If your opposed to raw eggs; for a cooked version:
  1. Combine Steps 2 and 3 in a medium saucepan, over high heat, and cook until the mixture reaches 160 degrees F.
  2. Remove from the heat, and once cooled; continue at Step 4.

Ingredients

  • 4 Egg Whites
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar

Step 1

Place the egg whites in the bowl of a stand mixer and beat to soft peaks. With the mixer still running gradually add the 1 tablespoon of sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.

Ingredients

  • 4 Egg Yolks
  • 13 cup Sugar

Step 2

Beat the egg yolks until they lighten in color. Then gradually add the sugar and continue to beat until it is completely dissolved.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Grated Nutmeg, (Fresh)

Step 3

Add the milk, cream, nutmeg and bourbon; stir to combine.

Ingredients

  • 3 ounces Bourbon, (Optional)

Step 4

Whisk the egg whites and bourbon into the mixture. Chill and serve.
