This was the way my mother made apple crisp, and I've always liked it so much better than the kind made with oatmeal.

Ingredients
Step 1
Peel, core, and slice apples into a greased 8x8 cake pan. Dot with butter and sprinkle with lemon juice.

Step 2
With pastry tool or 2 forks, combine flour, butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until crumbly.

Step 3
Spread flour mixture over apples and pat down lightly. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes.

Step 4
Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
