Apple Tart

Makes: 4 servings adjust

Step 1

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry

Step 2

Take 1 sheet of puff pastry and cut it into 4 squares. Place onto baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  • 2 Granny Smith Apples

Step 3

Slice apples with slicer, but then cut those pieces in half or thirds to make thin 1/4" slices. Place overlapping slices of apples diagonally down the middle of the tart and continue making diagonal rows on both sides of the first row until the pastry is covered with apple slices.

  • 14 cup Sugar
  • 14 stick Unsalted Butter

Step 4

Sprinkle with sugar. Cut butter pads into tiny bits, sprinkle onto the pastry.

Step 5

Bake for 30 minutes, rotate the pan then continue cooking for 15-30 more minutes or until nice and browned on the edges and the apples are brown. If the pastry puffs up in one area, cut a little slit with a knife to let the air out.

  • 14 cup Apricot Jelly
  • 1 tablespoon Water

Step 6

When the tart's done, heat the apricot jelly together with the water and brush the apples and the pastry completely with the jelly mixture. Loosen the tart with a metal spatula so it doesn't stick to the paper. Allow to cool and serve warm or at room temperature.
