Baked Potatoes |

I was surprised to find there wasn't a basic baked potato recipe on Kitchen Monki. I decided to share mine.
Directions |
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
|
Ingredients
Step 2
Scrub the potatoes thoroughly with a soft brush and pat dry. For soft skins and added flavor, rub each potato with butter. Skip rubbing the potatoes for crisper skins. Prick potatoes all over with a fork and wrap each in foil.
|
Step 3
Place foil wrapped potatoes oin the oven bake for 40 to 60 minutes or until tender. Remove from oven and let cool, slightly.
|
Step 4
When cool enough to handle, remove the foil and roll each potato gently on the counter, under your hand, to help loosen the skin. Cut a shallow criss-cross in each top with a knife. Press in, and up, on the ends of each potato to expose the flesh inside.
|
Step 5
Serve the potatoes with additional butter, sour cream, chopped chives, cheese, bacon bits, salt and pepper or whatever you like.
