Banana Bread

This is a classic banana bread recipe that has been served in my family for years.

Directions

 

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease load pan and dust with flour or use anti-stick spray.

Ingredients

  • 34 cup Butter, softened
  • 1 14 cups Sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Step 2

Mix the butter and sugar and slowly beat in eggs and vanilla.

Ingredients

  • 3 Bananas, mashed

Step 3

Add mashed bananas and continue mixing.

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 cups Flour
  • 34 teaspoon Salt

Step 4

Add the flour, baking soda, and salt and continue mixing.

Ingredients

  • 12 cup Buttermilk, If you do not have Buttermilk you can add 1tsp white vinegar in 1/2cup milk

Step 5

Finally add the buttermilk and mix a final time.
 

Step 6

Pour the batter in to the greased loaf pan and bake 1.25hrs or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool for about 1/2 hr before slicing and serving.
 

Step 7

In addition you can add chocolate chips or any nuts to the batter to enhance the recipe. The sky is the limit.
