This original recipe on Food.com includes a chile lime sauce, but we prefer our steaks without the sauce. This is the BEST steak marinade we've ever had!

Directions

Ingredients

  • 4 Sirloin Steak, 1 1/2 inch thick
  • 12 cup Freshly-squeezed Lime Juice
  • 1 small Onion, finely chopped
  • 13 cup Dry Red Wine, can sub beef broth.
  • 4 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Dried Oregano
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 teaspoon Coarse Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Ground Black Pepper

Step 1

Place the steaks in a single layer in a large glass or ceramic baking dish. Whisk the remaining ingredients together in a bowl and pour over the steaks, turning to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate, turning every couple of hours -- for about 4 hours. Preheat the grill. Remove the steaks from the marinade, shaking off any excess, and grill 6 to 8 minutes per side, or until done to taste. Transfer to a platter and let the steaks rest, loosely covered with foil.
