Buttercream Icing

Versatile Icing for any pastry.



  • 12 cup Vegetable Shortening
  • 12 cup Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 4 cups Confectioner's (Icing) Sugar

Step 1

Cream butter and shortening with electric mixer, add vanilla extract. Gradually add sugar one cup at a time, beating well.


  • 2 tablespoons Milk

Step 2

Add milk and beat at medium speed until light and fluffy.

Step 3

May refrigerate for up to 2 weeks in an air tight container. NOTE: for stiffer consistency, use 1 full cup of vegetable shortening, no butter, and 1/2 tsp butter extract if butter flavor is desired.
