Braised Pork meat for tacos; Slow cooking

Directions

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Tomato Paste
  • 2 tablespoons Adobo Sauce, We used adobo sauce from canned chipotle chiles in adobo sauce.
  • 3 tablespoons Chopped Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper

Step 1

Combine first 6 ingredients in slow cooker; stir in pieces of roast.

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Boston Butt Pork Roast, Boneless Boston Butt Pork Roast; cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 1 cup Beer, Beer or chicken broth

Step 2

Microwave beer in a 2cup glass liquid measuring cup on HIGH 2 minutes or until very hot. Pour beer over meat in slow cooker; do not stir.
 

Step 3

Cover and cook on high 1 hour and then on low 8 hours or until very tender.
 

Step 4

Remove meat and shred using 2 forks. Serve hot, plain or in tacos.
 

Step 5

Optional and Advance only; you can use a pressure cooker instead of slow cooker, but only if you know how to use one for faster results. I say 2 hours, but if you're not careful you may not have enough liquid to pressure for 2 hours. Read your pressure cooker manual to see how much liquid is needed for that amount of time.
