Sunday breakfast goodness!

Step 1

Pre-heat the oven to 250 degrees (for keeping the finished french toast pieces in the oven when done)

  • 1 12 cups Half and Half
  • 1 teaspoon Orange Zest, grated
  • 12 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tablespoon Honey
  • 12 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 6 Eggs

Step 2

In a large shallow bowl, wisk together the eggs, half and half, orange zest, vanilla, honey and salt

  • 1 Challah Bread, sliced

Step 3

Slice the challah in 3/4 inch-thick slices

Step 4

Soak bread slices in the egg mixture for 5 minutes, turning once

  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Vegetable Oil

Step 5

Heat 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large saute pan over medium heat

Step 6

Add the soaked bread and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side until nicely browned

Step 7

Place the cooked French toast on a sheet pan or in a glass dish and keep it warm in the oven until ready to serve

Step 8

Fry all remaining soaked bread slices, adding butter and oil as needed to pan. Serve hot with maple syrup.
