NOTE 1: Original recipe called for 2 Tablespoons of Kosher salt but many people following a similar recipe on Allrecipes noted it was too salty. I also use this in my 3-packet Slow Cooker Pot Roast where there are plenty of other ingredients with quite a bit of sodium so I have reduced the salt considerably. You can always add salt if necessary when making it up as a salad dressing.

NOTE 2: For "zesty" variety: add a pinch (scant ⅛ tsp) of red pepper flakes. Add more if you like it really zippy.

NOTE 3: For intensely garlic flavor: Add 1 tsp dehydrated minced garlic to the mix.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Onion Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Dried Oregano
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 14 teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • 1 teaspoon Dried Basil
  • 1 tablespoon Dried Parsley
  • 14 teaspoon Whole Celery Seed
  • 12 teaspoon Kosher Salt, see note 1 in recipe description above

Step 1

Mix all ingredients together and store in an airtight container.

Ingredients

  • 14 cup White Vinegar
  • 23 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Water

Step 2

To prepare the dressing: Place vinegar, oil and water in a small container with a tight-fitting lid. Add 2 Tablespoons of the prepared mix. Shake vigorously to combine.
