Crack Bread

Makes: 10 servings adjust

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  • 2 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 38 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley, finely chopped
  • 4 ounces Unsalted Butter

Step 2

Melt butter and then mix in garlic, salt and parsley.

  • 34 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese, or other melting cheese
  • 1 Sourdough Loaf, the denser the bread, the better the pieces will hold together when pulled off.

Step 3

Cut the bread on a diagonal into 1" diamonds but do not cut all the way through the bread. Use your fingers to pry open each crack and drizzle in a teaspoon of butter mixture and stuff in a pinch of cheese. You don't need to be super neat, it's nice to have some of the butter drizzle over the crust.

Step 4

Wrap in foil and bake for 15 minutes, until the cheese is mostly melted, then unwrap and bake for 5 minutes more to make the bread nice and crusty. Serve immediately, pull each diamond piece out and enjoy the crack bread!

Step 5

To make ahead, after wrapping in foil, wrap with cling wrap as well. Store in fridge overnight or freeze to store for longer. To cook, thaw then follow recipe instructions to bake.
