Dear Abby Cheesecake

  • 1 12 cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • 12 cup Butter, 1 stick, melted
  • 13 cup Powdered Sugar

Step 1

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine graham cracker crumbs, butter, and powdered sugar. Press into bottom of an 8 inch springform pan.


  • 3 packages Cream Cheese, softened
  • 4 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Step 2

In a large bowl beat cream cheese, eggs, sugar and vanilla, until smooth. Pour mixture into prepared crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes (until center is set).


  • 1 pint Sour Cream, room temperature
  • 1 can Cherry Pie Filling, or other, blueberry, or strawberry

Step 3

Remove form oven and spread sour cream on top of cake. Return to oven and bake an additional 5 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool. Spread cherry pie filling or desired topping on cheesecake. Refrigerate overnight. Before serving carefully remove sides from pan. TIP: to minimize cracking while baking, place a shallow pan half full of hot water on lower rack of oven during baking. Be sure the sour cream is room temperature when you spread it on.
