Easy Sopapilla Casserole

Delish, easy casserole-style sopapillas with soy cream cheese and sliced almonds.

Directions

 

Step 1

Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
 

Step 2

Prepare a 9x13 inch baking dish with cooking spray.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Tofutti cream cheese, Softened
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Step 3

Beat Tofutti with 1 cup of sugar and the vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth; set aside.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages Crescent Rolls, 8 ounce packages

Step 4

Unroll crescent roll dough, and use a rolling pin to shape each sheet into 9x13 inch rectangles. Press one sheet into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish.
 

Step 5

Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture into the baking dish.

Ingredients

  • 14 cup Butter, Melted

Step 6

Cover cream cheese with remaining piece of crescent dough, and brush with melted butter.

Ingredients

  • 13 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon

Step 7

Stir together 1/3 cup of sugar with the cinnamon in a small bowl, and sprinkle evenly over the top of crescent dough.

Ingredients

  • 12 cup Almonds, Sliced

Step 8

Sprinkle almonds on top of sugar and cinnamon.
 

Step 9

Bake until dough has puffed and turned golden brown, about 30 minutes.
 

Step 10

Allow to cool 10 minutes before serving.
