Fluffy Cake Doughnuts

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a doughnut pan.


  • 2 cups Flour
  • 34 cup White Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
  • 14 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
  • 14 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon Salt

Step 2

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmed, cinnamon and salt.


  • 34 cup Milk
  • 2 Eggs, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1 tablespoon Shortening

Step 3

Stir in milk, eggs, vanilla and shortening. Beat together until well blended.

Step 4

Fill each doughnut cup approximately 3/4 full. Bake 8-10 minutes until doughnuts spring back when touched. Allow to cool slightly before removing from pan.


  • 1 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Hot Water
  • 12 teaspoon Almond Extract

Step 5

To make the glaze: blend sugar, hot water and almond extract. Dip doughnuts in the glaze when serving.
