Grandma's CrockPot Pot Roast

Yummy melt in your mouth - super duper easy to prepare slow cooker pot roast.

Directions

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Oil

Step 1

Heat Oil in large frying pan.

Ingredients

  • 12 cup Flour, Enough flour to coat all sides of the roast (thinly)
  • 1 tablespoon Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Salt

Step 2

Mix together flour, pepper, and salt - then spread evenly on a plate or cookie sheet (something that will enable you to roll the roast in it).

Ingredients

  • 2 12 pounds Boneless Beef Chuck Roast, 2-3 lb chuck roast works just fine, just make sure whatever size you get can fit in your crockpot!

Step 3

Roll your roast around in the flour, pepper, salt mixture - when you are done all sides should be lightly coated.
 

Step 4

Now brown all sides of your roast in the frying pan you oiled and heated in the first step.

Ingredients

  • 1 package Onion Soup Mix
  • 2 cans Canned Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 1 can Water

Step 5

Mix onion soup packet, soup, and water in a medium sized bowl.
 

Step 6

Place the browned roast into the crock pot and pour your soup / water mixture over it.
 

Step 7

Now cook your roast in your crockpot for 6 hours on high or 8-10 hours on low. You can also add potatoes and carrots to the crockpot as well for an all-in-one meal, just make sure that you cook it long enough ... you want the meat to be suuuper tender.
