Season 4 6-ounce pieces skinless salmon fillet with salt and pepper. Grill over medium heat until opaque, 5 to 6 minutes per side; flake.
Toss 4 cups mixed greens, 1 segmented grapefruit, 1 diced avocado, and ¼ sliced red onion with olive oil and vinegar; season with salt and pepper. Top with the salmon.
