Heavenly  Red Velvet Cupcakes

The Waldorf Astoria's Red Velvet Cake comes in a distant second. These are heaven in a muffin tray.

Directions

Ingredients

  • 15 12 ounces All-Purpose Flour, Sift flour
  • 2 teaspoons Cocoa Powder, unsweetened
  • 1 14 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 14 teaspoons Baking Soda

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a small mixing bowl, add ingredients and sift. Set aside.

Ingredients

  • 1 14 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 18 cup Water
  • 1 14 teaspoons White Vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons Red Food Coloring
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 14 cups Buttermilk
  • 13 ounces Granulated Sugar
  • 1 12 cups Vegetable Oil

Step 2

Combine oil, sugar, and buttermilk in a large bowl. Then add eggs, food coloring, vinegar, and water. Mix well. Make sure to add the dry ingredients little by little, and mix on LOW. Mix until JUST combined - DO NOT OVERMIX!
 

Step 3

Line cupcake pan and fill each cup to 2/3 full. Bake at 350 degrees to 20-30 minutes.

  • Cream Cheese Frosting

Step 4

Cook and frost with cream cheese frosting.
