Simple and delicious homemade butter in just minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint Heavy Cream
  • 34 teaspoon Salt

Step 1

Combine cream and salt in a mixing bowl. Using a stand mixer or hand mixer set to high, begin mixing the cream.
 

Step 2

The mixture will first resemble whipped cream. Continue on and it will eventually become clumpy.
 

Step 3

Continue to mix. Eventually liquid -- buttermilk -- will begin to form. When a good amount has gathered, pour off into a cup. Mix a little more, then pour off the buttermilk again.
 

Step 4

Add some water to the bowl and, using your hands, form the clumps into a ball. Knead it slightly, then discard the water.
 

Step 5

Pack the ball of butter into a ramekin or container. If refrigerated it will harden. Server on bread, with crackers, or use in cooking.
