Homemade Macaroni and Cheese

Creamier and cheesier than macaroni from a mix, this might be more of an adult favorite.



  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 4 tablespoons Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Milk

Step 1

Start by making a traditional white sauce. Melt butter and whisk in flour, cooking for 30-60 seconds. Slowly add milk, whisking out lumps and simmering until thickened.


  • 8 ounces Extra Sharp Cheddar, shredded

Step 2

Grate cheddar. Slowly stir into white sauce until melted.


  • 1 pound Elbow Macaroni Pasta, cooked per instructions

Step 3

Cook macaroni per instructions on box. Drain and rinse with cold tap water. Return to pan and stir in cheese sauce.
