Meatball Sandwiches

Traditional meatball sandwiches with Italian sausage sauce.

Directions

Ingredients

  • 2 Eggs, beaten lightly
  • 3 tablespoons Milk
  • 12 cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs
  • 34 teaspoon Fine Sea Salt
  • 14 teaspoon Fine Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 pound Ground Chuck

Step 1

Mix eggs, milk, salt, pepper, and breadcrumbs into ground chuck. Form into 24 meatballs.
 

Step 2

Brown meatballs in large skillet or shallow stockpot. When cooked, remove meatballs and set aside.

Ingredients

  • 12 pound Sweet Italian Sausage
  • 12 cup Yellow Onion, chopped
  • 12 cup Green Bell Pepper, chopped

Step 3

Brown sausage, onion, and bell pepper. Drain fat.

Ingredients

  • 1 14 cups Water
  • 15 ounces Tomato Sauce
  • 6 ounces Tomato Paste
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Salt
  • 12 teaspoon Dried Whole Oregano
  • 12 teaspoon Dried Parsley Flakes

Step 4

Add water, tomato sauce, tomato paste, and seasonings to the sausage, onions, and peppers. Add meatballs. Cover and simmer 15 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 8 Torpedo Sandwich Rolls
  • 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Step 5

Slice rolls not quite through so a hinge of bread remains. Toast rolls before adding filling. Ladle three meatballs and sauce onto each. Cover each sandwich with shredded mozzarella.

Ingredients

  • 12 cup Canned Sliced Jalapeno Peppers

Step 6

Toast sandwiches under broiler until cheese is browned. Serve with sliced jalapenos.
