Classic dried white confection to serve alongside ice cream and sauce.



  • 4 Egg Whites

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, use hand mixer to start beating egg whites.


  • 14 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 14 teaspoon Cream of Tartar
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 pinch Salt

Step 2

When egg whites are partially beaten, add remaining ingredients. Continue beating until stiff.

Step 3

Spoon egg white mixture into small mounds on buttered and floured cookie sheet.

Step 4

Bake at very low temperature, 200-degrees for 1 hour. Reduce oven to "warm" and continue baking for an additional 2 hours.

Step 5

Turn off oven. Leave meringues in oven until cool. Store in airtight container. Serve with ice cream and saunces such as fudge or caramel.
