A simple breakfast for a crowd. This can be modified to include any add ins you like.

Directions

Step 1

Buttermilk Substitution: Add two tablespoons of vinegar to a measuring cup, and pour in milk to measure two cups. * (you can do this for any recipe needing buttermilk, 1 tablespoon and fill to 1 cup to make a cup)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Sugar
  • 34 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • 2 12 teaspoons Baking Powder

Step 2

Preheat oven to 350° Combine first five ingredients;stir well.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag Chocolate Chips, milk or semi sweet, whatever ya have (optional)
  • 2 whole Banana, mashed (optional)
  • 14 can Vegetable Oil, I use grapeseed, use what you have
  • 2 cups Buttermilk, see substitution
  • 2 large Eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup Walnuts, chopped (optional)

Step 3

Combine eggs, buttermilk and oil in a bowl and add to flour mixture, stirring until just blended (this is where you would throw in blueberries, choc chips, apples, nuts, banana slices, whatever you want)

Step 4

Pour batter into Pampered Chef Bar Pan baking stone. Bake at 350° for 15-20 mins or until done. Cut into squares and top with your favorite topping. I have a friend who does not have a bar stone, so she uses a normal jelly roll pan and greases it first.

Step 5

Then cut into squares with a pizza cutter. Some of the kids will get up early and eat it while its hot, some will nuke theirs in the microwave to heat it and some love it at room temperature. Eat it as is, or top with a favorite syrup...strawberry is good on the banana one. Apple goes well with a caramel sauce or even basic maple.
