Submitted by: Mormon Foodie
A basic cooked rice recipe for use with stir-fries and other recipes served over rice.
Directions |
Ingredients
Step 1
Rinse the rice thoroughly in a sieve, at least three times. Cover with water and let soak for 20 minutes. Drain.
|
Ingredients
Step 2
Put the rice in a medium saucepan. Add the water and salt. Adding a bit of butter or olive oil can help prevent it from boiling over and add extra flavor, but is strictly optional.
|
Step 3
Bring the mixture to a boil. Reduce to low, cover, and simmer until all the water is absorbed, about 10 minutes per cup of rice. You'll start to smell the cooked rice when it's done. Enjoy!
