Perfect Jasmine Rice
Submitted by:
Makes: 6 servings adjust
Typically the back of the package instructions for rice call for a 2:1 ratio of water to rice. I have found with the brand of rice I use (Goya), those ratios resulted in very sticky and dense rice. Reducing the ratio to 1.75:1 results in a much less sticky and fluffier rice.

  • 3 12 cups Cold Water

Step 1

Pour water into a large, non-stick pot. Cover and bring to a full boil.

  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt, or 1/2 tsp table salt
  • 2 cups Jasmine Rice, (400 grams)

Step 2

Stir in salt and rice. Cover and reduce burner to low heat.

Step 3

Simmer for 20 minutes without opening lid.

Step 4

Remove from heat and allow to sit while covered for 5 minutes.

Step 5

Fluff rice and serve.
