Pizza Dough & Sauce

Directions

Ingredients

  • 4 cups Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 envelope Instant Dry Yeast
  • 2 teaspoons Kosher Salt
  • 1 12 cups Hot Water, 110 degrees
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil

Step 1

Combine flour, sugar, yeast and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer and combine. While the mixer is running, add the water and 2 Tbsp oil and beat until the dough forms into a ball. If the dough is sticky, add additional flour, 1 Tbsp at a time, until dough comes together in a solid ball. If the dough is too dry, add additional water, 1 Tbsp at a time. Scrape the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead into a smooth, firm ball.

Step 2

Grease a large bowl with the remaining oil, add the dough, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and put it in a warm area to let it double in size, about 1 hour.

  • 12 Onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons Minced Garlic
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 cup Tomato, chopped
  • 8 ounces Tomato Sauce
  • 6 ounces Tomato Paste
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 teaspoons Oregano
  • 2 teaspoons Basil
  • 18 teaspoon Pepper

Step 3

For the Sauce: Saute onion and garlic in oil until tender. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
 

Step 4

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and divide into 2 equal pieces. Cover each with plastic wrap and let rest for 10 minutes.
 

Step 5

Preheat oven to 350 degrees, or outdoor grill.
 

Step 6

Roll out the pizza dough to about 1/2" thick. Brush garlic butter around the outside rim of the pizza. Put into oven or on bbq. Cook until pizza has started to firm up, about 20 minutes.

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 2 tablespoons Butter

Step 7

Put butter, garlic and onion powder into a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 15 second intervals until butter is melted. Set aside.
 

Step 8

Remove pizza crust, spread pizza sauce on top, leaving 1" around the outside. Top with mozzarella then whatever toppings you'd like. Put back into the oven/bbq for another 20 minutes, or until everything is cooked and cheese is melted.
