Pizza Margherita

A classic pizza topped with tomato, mozzarella, and basil.



Step 1

Preheat the oven to 475 degrees F.


  • 2 medium Tomatoes
  • 6 ounces Fresh Mozzarella

Step 2

Remove the stem from the tomatoes, cut in half lengthwise, and cut into very thin slices. Diced the mozzarella into 1/4 inch cubes.


  • 1 large Pizza Crust, about 16" across
  • 24 Fresh Basil Leaves, or 1 tablespoon dried basil

Step 3

Put the pizza crust onto a large oven tray, or pizza round. Spread the sliced tomatoes evenly over the crust in a single layer. Do the same with the basil leaves, and then with the mozzarella.

Step 4

Place the pizza on the center rack of of the preheated oven and bake for 7 minutes. Check the pizza for bubbles, popping any as needed, and cook for an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until the crust is crisp and deeply golden. Every oven is different so, all times are approximate.

Step 5

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Cut into slices and serve.
