Praline Sweet Potatoes

Susan Cramer of LA sent her mother Ann Peterson's recipe. Susan said it was " a feature of our family's New England Thanksgiving for the last 30 years. When my husband, family, and I plan Thanksgiving every year, the one dish they all ask for is this."



  • 2 pounds Sweet Potato, Peeled, cooked, mashed

Step 1

Prepare Sweet Potatoes


  • 14 cup Milk
  • 1 Egg, Slightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher Salt, to taste (and pepper)

Step 2

Beat milk, egg, salt and pepper in with sweet potatoes. Spoon mixture into buttered 2-3 quart casserole dish.


  • 12 cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 14 cup Butter
  • 14 cup Dark Corn Syrup
  • 12 cup Pecan Pieces, Chopped

Step 3

Combine sugar, butter, and corn syrup and spread over potatoes. Sprinkle pecans on top. Bake at 350 degrees, uncovered, until set, about 40-50 minutes. Topping will be slightly soft but will harden as dish cools.
