Roasted Whole Chicken

Roasted Whole Chicken

Step 1

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.


  • 5 pounds Whole Chicken
  • 4 tablespoons Butter

Step 2

Wash and pat dry your chicken. Carefully pull the skin from the meat and rub with butter under the skin. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and herbs of choice (garlic powder, onion powder, italian seasoning). Stuff the chicken with herbs you choose (lemon, thyme, onion).


  • 2 cups Water

Step 3

Place chicken onto a roasting rack in a baking pan, pour water to just cover the bottom of the roasting pan. Roast for 1 hour, breast side down. Turn over and roast for another 30 minutes, or until juices run clear.

Step 4

Cover loosely with foil and let sit for 20 minutes before carving.
