Shiitake Mushroom Hummus

Shiitake Mushroom Hummus

The best Hummus recipe with SharLeBel's own Shiitake mushrooms!!



  • Dried Shiitake Mushrooms, 20gram
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Step 1

• Soak Mushrooms for 30 minutes in lukewarm water • Drain mushrooms • Heat olive oil in pan • Add mushrooms and fry over medium heat until brown and crispy • Add Salt & Pepper as per taste just before it is ready • Let it cool down


  • Shiitake Mushrooms, Prepared as above and cooled down

Step 2

• Chop cooled Shiitake mushrooms in food processor


  • 1 can x 400gr of chickpeas, keep liquid
  • 2 garlic gloves, crushed
  • 12 teaspoon crushed salt
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 12 teaspoon Paprika

Step 3

• Add Chickpea, Chickpea liquid, Garlic, Salt, Lemon Juice and Paprika • Process into a smooth puree


  • 6 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • cheyenne pepper , optional

Step 4

• Add Olive Oil until you get desired smoothness • Transfer to a bowl • Taste and adjust the seasoning • Drizzle with Olive oil and sprinkle with a bit more Paprika or Cheyenne Pepper


  • Fresh Parsley, optional
  • Fresh Coriander, Optional

Step 5

• Add Coriander or parsley leaves as garnish
