Simple Red Sauce

As the name suggests, this is a basis Italian red sauce suitable for use with any kind of pasta.



  • 1 tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic, thinly sliced or minced.
  • 1 Onion, finely diced
  • Salt & Freshly Ground Black Pepper, to taste

Step 1

Heat olive oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Add onion & garlic. Add salt & pepper. Cover & Simmer over medium heat until onion is translucent.


  • 2 cans diced tomatos, 14 oz
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon White Wine, substitute triple sec, vermouth, or vodka
  • 12 Bell Pepper, finely diced
  • 1 cup Water

Step 2

Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a simmer, cover, & cook for 15 minutes. Remove cover & reduce until thickened to a saucy consistency.

Step 3

you can toss this with pasta, but it is more attractive if you just spoon it over the pasta when plating.
