Smothered Pork Chops

  • 6 Pork Chops
  • 1 Salt
  • 1 Ground Black Pepper
  • 12 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 13 teaspoon Dried Oregano

Step 1

Season both sides of the pork chops with salt/pepper, oregano and garlic powder.


  • 3 tablespoons Vegetable Oil

Step 2

Heat oil in skillet on medium high heat until hot. sear pork chops in hot pan for approximately 3 minutes on each side or until nicely browned. remove from pan.


  • 1 large Onion, halved then sliced thin
  • 3 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour

Step 3

Add onions to hot pan, season with salt/pepper and saute for 2 minutes. reduce heat to medium then add flour to the onions. Stir to coat onions with flour and continue cooking 2-3 more minutes, stirring occasionally.


  • 14 ounces Chicken Broth

Step 4

Slowly add broth to onions and stir until smooth and mixture begins to thicken. Taste for seasoning the add salt/pepper if necessary. Reduce heat to low, add pork chops back to pan then cover and cook for 30 min. to an hour. (simmer DON'T boil) The longer it cooks the more tender the chops will be.
