Soy Milk |

Ever want to make your own soy milk? It's easier than you think. Here is a simple recipe to do it. You can add vanilla, cocoa, nutmeg, or cinnamon to add flavor.
There are also soy milk machines you can get if you want to go the automatic way.

Ingredients
Step 1
After soaking the soy beans overnight in water (10 to 16 hours), strain them, and place 1 cup of soy beans at a time in a blender. Add water until the beans are covered in water. Blend until a pulp.
|
Step 2
Take the pulp mixture, and pour into a large pot. Once all the beans are blended and in the pot, bring to a boil and cook for about 20 minutes.
|
Step 3
As it's cooking, scrape off the foam that rises to the top.
|
Step 4
Once it's done cooking, place some cheesecloth over another pot. Secure the cheesecloth to the sides of the pot with large clips preventing the cloth from sagging.
|
Step 5
Pour the soy beans slowly into the cheese cloth. When done, carefully remove the clips and squeeze the soy bean mixture to remove all the fluid.

Step 6
Add 2 teaspoons vanilla if you desire. Pour into jars or containers and allow it to cool, then refrigerate.
