Sun-Dried Tomato and Herb Flax Crackers

Ingredients

  • 2 12 cups Filtered Water
  • 2 cups Flax Seeds

Step 1

Soak flax seeds in a large mixing bowl with water. Allow seeds to soak at least 1 hour or until all liquid is absorbed and seeds are gelatinous.

Ingredients

  • 12 cup Sun-Dried Tomato, soaked in 1 cup of water for 30 minutes
  • 1 tablespoon Nama Shoyu, or to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 12 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
  • 14 cup Fresh Basil, or other fresh minced herbs ie Italian Parsley
  • 12 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 1 14 cups Sunflower Seeds, soaked for at least 1 hour

Step 2

Place sun-dried tomatoes, sun-dried tomato soak water, sunflower seeds, nama shoyu, lemon juice, salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, and fresh herbs in a food processor fitted with an S blade. Process on high speed for 30 seconds or until smooth. Add to flax seeds and mix well.
 

Step 3

Spread batter thinly and evenly on Teflex lined dehydrator trays, and dehydrate at 115 F for 6 hours. Flip over, remove from Teflex, and continue dehydrating for another 6 hours. Remove from dehydrator and cut each tray 6x4. Store crackers in an airtight container at room temp. for 1-2 weeks.
