Three Bean Steak Chili

A simple, easy chili recipe that can be as hot as you like! Meat lovers will love this!



  • 1 pound Ground Pork
  • 12 pound Beef Stew Meat, cut into 1/4" cubes
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • 1 Red Onion, finely diced
  • 1 Yellow Onion, finely diced

Step 1

In a large pot over medium-high heat, brown the ground pork first, then add the beef, and finally the turkey. Cook until any moisture is almost gone, then add the onion and cook until translucent.


  • 1 cup Beer, keep it simple! steer away from wheat beers.
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 large Canned Tomatoes, crushed, stewed, or diced. whichever you prefer!
  • 1 packet Chili Seasoning, mild version preferred for this dish.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 12 teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • 12 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Step 2

Add seasonings and stir to combine. Add beer, water and tomatoes and stir, making sure to scrape any bits from the bottom of the pan.


  • 1 can Canned Garbanzos (Chickpeas)
  • 1 can Canned Black Beans
  • 1 can Canned White Cannellini Beans
  • 1 can Canned Corn, not creamed corn!

Step 3

Add all the canned items, including their liquids. Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer for 20 minutes.


  • 4 tablespoons Quick Grits, optionally use masa flour slurried in a quarter cup of cold water.

Step 4

Add grits and stir to combine. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until chili is thickened.

Step 5

Serve with Rice, corn chips or all alone. Optionally garnish with cilantro and plenty of diced cheese (cheddar or whatever you like). Provide your favorite hot sauce so each guest can spice it up to their own particular taste!
