Vanilla Custard |

Homemade custard is so simple and comforting. It has a long elapsed time in the oven, but the basic preparation is a snap.
Directions |
Ingredients
Step 1
Beat eggs with other ingredients. I like to use a bowl with a pouring lip and use a handheld mixer.
|
Ingredients
Step 2
In a heavy bottom sauce pan, scald milk (bring to 185 degrees but not boiling).
|
Step 3
While using the handheld mixer on low to medium speed, slowly add the scalded milk, stirring mixture constantly.
|
Step 4
Pour mixture into 6 custard cups or small ramekins. Place the custard cups in a 13x9 pan filled with hot water to a level about even with the liquid custard. Bake at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes. Remove when a knife poked into one comes out clean.
