The YUCCA is a social cocktail most closely associated with pre-concert tailgates or camping. One part recipe and one part ritual, the YUCCA is great for establishing and maintaining a vibe. Image is the original as it was passed to me.

Directions

Ingredients

  • 1 12 liters Ice, enough to top off jug

Step 1

You will need a wide-mouth, sealable, 2-liter jug. Fill jug with ice.

Ingredients

  • 1 liter Tequila, cheap is OK

Step 2

Add entire bottle of Tequila.

Ingredients

  • 3 Limes, halved
  • 3 Lemons, halved

Step 3

Squeeze each lemon and lime half into the jug. Toss the squeezed fruit in the jug too.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Sugar

Step 4

Dump sugar in jug and cap it.

Step 5

THE RITUAL--PERFECTING THE YUCCA. Have EVERYONE that will be drinking the YUCCA take turns shaking the jug for several minutes at a time, then passing to the next person. If the jug gets too cold, wrap a hand towel around it. Continue passing and shaking for AT LEAST half and hour, preferably one to two hours. After this ritual, when it feels right, take the top off and start drinking. Delicious. Continue shaking and passing the YUCCA between drinks if it feels right. Take the jug with you on your journey to the show. Drink entire jug.

Step 6

Empty jug can be used for water in the show. But jug might not return from show. This is OK.
