The beets in this smoothie are perfectly blended with strawberries, avocado, and vanilla protein powder to produce a smooth, velvety consistency, and to detract from any taste of actual beets. It’s the perfect balance of carbs, protein, and healthy fat. So why add the beets if you can’t taste them then? Besides the fact that they’re red and everyone loves red stuff on Valentine’s Day, beets are also full of vitamins and antioxidants. They have anti-inflammatory benefits, mental-health benefits, and may help prevent cancer. Oh yeah, and they’re supposedly a natural aphrodisiac. ;)

Directions

Ingredients

  • 1 small Beet

Step 1

Clean beet and chop into smaller pieces.

Ingredients

  • 1 Apple

Step 2

Clean apple and remove core and seeds

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Frozen Strawberries
  • 1 cup Vanilla Almond Milk

Step 3

Add beet, apple, strawberries and vanilla almond milk to blender.

Ingredients

  • 1 Lemon Juice

Step 4

Juice one lemon and add to the blender jar.
 

Step 5

Place the lid on tightly and start the blender on low variable speed moving slowly to high. Blend until beet is fully broken down.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Ice

Step 6

Add 2 cups ice and blend again.
